Golden Globe Race organisers have released a report by Sir Robin Knox-Johnston into the knockdowns, and in some cases, dismastings, sustained by the fleet in the 2018/19 edition

Sir Robin Knox-Johnston has released his findings following an investigation into the knockdowns which affected the 2018-19 Golden Globe Race fleet.

During the race, seven yachts experienced knockdowns in the Southern Ocean.

In total there were five dismastings, four of them during storms including British yachtswoman Susie Goodall, Irish skipper Gregor McGuckin, Indian naval officer Abhilash Tomy and Norwegian yacht surveyor Are Wiig.
