Jersey goes online for yachtsmen

A new Internet-based information service has been set up that will allow visiting yachtsmen to share information with Jersey Harbours.

Using a service called ‘MAIL2U’ safety information, Notices to Mariners and urgent and general harbour news via e-mails will be issued.

St Helier is growing in popularity as a destination in 2002 the number of visiting yachts was up by 3.6%, at 6,864, and 123 of these stayed for a month or more on a long-term contract.

All you have to do to receive the free information service is log on to the Jersey Harbours’ website www.jersey-harbours.com and register your details.

Similarly, Jersey Harbours is asking visiting yachtsmen to talk back to them using the ‘MAILUS2’ service. All you have to do is click on to the relevant website page and let Jersey Harbours have your ideas, suggestions and points of view.
