If Q were to issue James Bond 007 with a pedalo, it would probasbly look a lot like the Nauticraft Escapade

You’ll find a space down on the marina at berth 33. It’s where the Nauticraft Escapade, a pedal-powered pod, should be but it’s proved such a hit that it’s always out on the water – their demonstrator will have legs like Miguel Indurain by the end of the show.

Imported by Wetbikes of Poole, the Nauticraft Escapade features a quiet pedal drive in the bow that links to a two bladed prop. Steering is via two levers mounted on either side of the driver’s position and a spade rudder.

Behind the driver’s seat, there’s space for two people comfortably (or three close friends) to sit and enjoy the steady five knots that the driver should be able to manage without any bother. Nauticraft make some bold claims about the Escapade, namely that it is ‘self-righting, unsinkable, totally maintenance-free and virtually indestructible’.
