Rare chance to cruise along the Thames on Lady Daphne

Thames sailing barge Lady Daphne will offer a series of cruises along the river Thames as part of the Mayor’s Thames Festival next weekend.

Passengers will be taken under Tower Bridge, which will rise to let the barge through, before heading towards Greenwich and returning to central London.

The festival will also see a collection of classic boats moor at St Katharine Docks, where outdoor exhibition Rivers of the World is taking place. There will be free taxis to transport people between the Mayor’s Thames Festival and the St Katharine Docks Classic Boat Festival.

The weekend will come to a close with a fireworks display across the river on the Sunday night. The fireworks will be lit from barges positioned in the middle of the river between the Blackfriars and Waterloo bridges.

The Mayor’s Thames Festival celebrates London and the River Thames. You can find out more about the festival and the weekend’s events on the official website.
