A group of organisations, called The Cool Route, is seeking to encourage cruising on Europe's remotest shores and is seeking sailors' opinons in a new survey

The Cool Route Project has launched a survey to gain information about the needs and activities of cruising sailors along the west coasts of Ireland, Scotland, the Faroe Islands and Norway.

The project is a collaboration between international partners including the RYA, ISA, and every sailing national sailing organisation along the route, aiming to evaluate, improve and promote infrastructure for sailors following the route in either direction. The Project has support from the EU under The Northern Periphery and Arctic Programme.

The survey can be completed here, and at the following link:

The project aims to make the most of the natural beauty and sailing appeal of the area to encourage tourism to the area and to foster economically and environmentally sustainable businesses to provide the services and infrastructure sailors need. This will include a common branding, booking and information system.
